Fourteen students from Mercer County Technical Schools and One from The Somerset County Vo-Tech School recently received $1,000 scholarships from Career Development Awards (CDA). Four of the students also received various memorial scholarships of $500 each. CDA is a nonprofit organization that provides scholarships to students attending two-year educational institutions or technical programs. The awards are granted yearly to students who will be continuing their studies in such diverse fields as culinary arts, cosmetology, graphic design and health care. The winners were honored at a ceremony May 18th at the Chauncey Conference Center of Educational Testing Service in Lawrence. The scholarship recipients are: David Villafane of North Plainfield, Taylor Basil, Katherine Benitez, Crystal Jeffery and Kevin Krasnicki and Nicole Sutton, all of Hamilton (Edward Jerome "Jerry" Moylan Memorial Scholarship); Timothy Miller, Zaneta Pisarska and Kara Weigand, all of Lawrence; Karina Sanchez of Trenton; Bryan Sapon of Plainsboro (Eric L. Toub Memorial Scholarship); Rodrigo Segura of Hightstown (ETS Turnbull Scholarship); Fredy Villanueva of Princeton; Andrew Warshany of Hightstown; and Keona White of East Windsor (Kesner Dufresne Jr. Memorial Scholarship). |
